Our Approach to Health, Safety, Environment and Ecology

The high risk nature of many of the activities that Robinson & Birdsell Ltd undertake demands that it operates the most stringent Health, Safety and Environmental controls. These are implemented, monitored and reviewed by the company’s in- house Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, assisted, where required, by appointed doctors and specialist consultants.

The health and safety of our workforce is our prime concern when carrying out programmes of work. Projects are undertaken with an absolute focus on Health, Safety and Environmental Controls with a strict Quality Assurance regime ensuring that all work complies with Legislation, British Standards and best practices.

Robinson & Birdsell Ltd has a unique level of experience and expertise in dealing with industrial contamination and waste of all kinds, whether liquid or solid. It is also able to offer Environmental Assessments (prior to project commencement), Pollution, Waste Management and Environmental Audits. This service ensures that clients fully comply with ‘Duty of Care’ legislation at all stages, from the demolition site through to land reinstatement.

Where required, the company can also undertake landscaping and habitat provision. Robinson & Birdsell Ltd is sympathetic to ecological issues and has a commitment to ensuring that the environment is not damaged by its activities in any way. Ecological Management Plans are regularly produced prior to undertaking contracts on highly sensitive sites to propose the measures that will need to be put in place, ensuring that ecological impacts are either avoided or suitably mitigated. Several contracts have been re-scheduled to suit habitat and breeding requirements for species, such as falcons, bats, kestrels and water voles.

Robinson & Birdsell Ltd holds the following; Quality Management accreditation to BS EN ISO 9001:2015, Environmental accreditation to BS EN ISO 14001:2015 and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems accreditation to OH SAS 18001: 2007, certificated by BSI.
